I'm not blaming it on the Converter. Well yea I am. It sucks not having tires. I thought for sure I'd be low 13s POSSIBLY high 12s. But I was peeling out all of 1st gear. Best time I ran was a 13.50@103. I ran against a T/A and romped on him by about 5 cars. so i thought I FINALLY GOT MY 13 FLAT PASS. Not even close. Track conditions REALLY sucked, my suspension is REAL bad (2 inches lower on the right side) and even on the 13.5 I didn't hook until about HALF through 1st gear. Should I see low 13s/high 12s with a good suspension and Nittos? I'm REAL disappointed in this car.

You should be mid to high 12's with the mods you have and a nice sticky tire.

Don't be dissapointed in your car. Put a freakin' tire on it and give it a fair chance of making you happy.

The idea of a torque converter is so that you can launch harder and get into the powerband quicker. You can NOT do either on street tires.
Be fair to your car.

You really need to try to go to another track. I ran a 12.54 with bolt-ons, a 2800 stall converter, and stock Eagle F-1's.

Theres no reason to be disapponted in the car....... the car was telling you to buy new tires....... how do you expect to run a better time spinning off the line???? Get a goos set of drag radials and go back at it........ you didnt tell us your 60' either..... its hard to tell with out that info..... when my car was pretty much stock it went from 2.0 60' to 1.7's with my TCI SSF3500...... every tenth.(.10) out tof the hole is worth about .15 up top. So you should be close to 13.0 with good tires...... Were you flashing the converter out of the hole?? ie pushing it to the floor? Or foot breaking it?

Try a set of ET Streets or slicks and see what happens.

And stop blaming the converter. Converters DO NOT help traction...they REQUIRE traction!

How many times do I see people blaming the converter for their 60fts when they can't hook... That's just not being fair to the converter.

Nitto's are better than the factory tires in all aspects, handling, braking, traction, except for wear and hydroplane resistance. You can still expect to drive in light rain and get 9,000-15,000 miles from a set.

I could never understand why tires are the last mod most guys do instead of the first. You don't go dancing in golf shoes, eh?

Like said above - don't blame the car! You need traction. And why is the car sitting 2" lower on one side??? What kind of suspension mods do you have? You need at least subframe connectors and lower control arms. Is the car lowered? If so, you need relocation brackets as well.

You can't just throw some power mods and a converter at a car and expect it to perform - you gotta have the complete package to get the most out of it!

I'm in no way blaming the converter, I knew that I was going to need traction. What I'm putting the blame on is my suspension. I think it's lower on one side because the shocks or the springs are broke. I know that it's stealing atleast one tenth, if not 2. I love this converter, and when I did get A LITTLE traction it ripped. Came pretty close to 13.4 on that pass. I'm going to get my suspension fixed pretty soon and the tires are coming right afterwards. I'll post the new times later... Thanks guys

Get the springs and shocks fixed with a good set of drag radials and you should be around 13.0

I just ran a 12.33 letting off at the top end with a full weight 01 WS6. I have the TCI 3500 and I cut a 1.68 60'. The DA was around 2800 - 3000'. I have a stock motor in it with stock manifolds with cats and Corsa Exhaust. I am running chrome rims up from and Chrome Firebird wheels in the back with ET Streets. Get a set of tires on there and you will be well into the 12's...
