Well I sold my car
Sold my car yesterday, kinda sad. Been on this site for about 10 years. Want to thank everyone for all the advice. And I hope I have help a few along the way also. I have always hung out in this section, drag racing is my passion.
My car has always been naturally aspirated and very proud of the results. When I bought the car it ran 12.60's and now runs 9.90's! The guy that brought it is going to run the 6.0 class 1/8 mile. He races Pro Mods, don't know why he wants this slow car. LOL!
Anyways I appreciate all the people I've met on this site over the years!
Hope everyone fulfills their dreams!

just do a minor bolt on /DR/A4 car that requires very little attention/maintenance.
I have an uncle that is 78 that bought my 88 monte ss from me back in the early 90's and put a 383 in it , ran 12.1's for him as he drives it on the street he still likes to raise some hell , his 76 year old brother bought a new full size SS last year after years away from cars. A high school friend of theirs that lives down the street from me just finished a 55 chevy he has been building for 20 years ,rotisserie resto warmed over 496 big block 4 gear ,mini tubs etc... he is close to 80 and asked me if I would consider driving it at the track for him.
My favorite old guy racing story was nearly 30 years ago on a street night at New England Dragway in NH a guy drove in from Mass. in a 67ish big body mopar RT 440/4 gear car guy was well into his 70's pulled out his jack and slicks , uncorked his headers and drove it like a champ all night in the mid 12's. Late 80's driving your car to the track and running 12's was pretty badass and this old dude drove there from out of state alone and did everything he needed to do to get it done , I was in my early 20's at the time and was like I want to be that guy when I get old. Don't give up on it unless you think your vision or reactions cant allow you to be safe otherwise keep going or maybe consider putting together a real good "old man" looking car and make it a great sleeper you can sell the whole deal with age now- them whippersnappers in the new mustangs wont know what hit them when the old guy with blue blocker glasses roasts them in a woodgrain panel buick estate wagon !

LOL, I just turned 59 but I feel 159! Plan to move to Florida in the next year or so. Going to need a boat! I also sold my 1980 Corvette 2 days earlier that the TA. Wife has a 1998 Corvette that looks brand new!
If I did get another car it would be a fast street car. My Trans Am was a stock WS6 with a MTI 382 in it when we bought it. It was my wife's daily driver. It ran 11.60's and she drove it every day and I took it to the track every Thursday!
Then I started hacking it up into a track car only. Sometimes I wish I'd left it alone. It was a sleeper!

I one day hope to finish my build, but it is the last racecar for me. I have so much going on in life, I know longer care how long it takes.
If you poke around one day pop through and say giday. My build will probably still be in building a race car document it here.
Thanks for sharing your build!
