I can't imagine it being that simple bumping in with the clutch

Back when I raced my 2jz car with 6 speed I would try to stage first and be ready, on a sportsman tree I could make 15psi on the two step with in the three bulbs, last yellow I would release quickly, not side step the clutch. I have a standalone so I pulled timing on the hit till the car left nice. 3700 lb street car on RA1's. I was cutting 1.8 sixty foots

Put a linelock on the front brakes and run a brake pressure gauge into the cab so you can see it. It'll take a little testing, but find the sweet spot of locking down enough front brake pressure to be able to control the car with your right foot planted and easing off the clutch into the second bulb.

You can put a release switch on the clutch pedal so that when you let it rip, it releases the front line pressure at the same time.

I wired my line lock power wire to my MSD 2 step so when I release the button on my shift ball it's time to go. Still have to play around with this to see if I can do this about the same time I'm dumping the clutch but I'm hoping this will make for good 60ft. This is so I don't have to think about holding the throttle to any certain pre-launch rpm, the 2 step will do that and then I can concentrate on the lights and the cluch pedal, I could use a test and tune to perfect this.

2-step is the only way to go with a manual, it is really consistent. It is really ideal if you can wire it to the cruise control switch on the clutch pedal, if it has one.

that is a good idea, never thought of that. Then have a master power switch for the 2 step and line lock.

Its very easy, light both bulbs floor throttle and bounce off the 2 step dump clutch. The amount of boost you launch on will be based on your timing and 2 step rpm but when you launch at 5000-6000 rpm you have instant boost. My 2 step is activated with the clutch pedal position switch, which you only need to tap into one wire on the pcm but i cannot remember which.

You usually don't have to launch at nearly as high of an RPM on a 2-step with the pedal on the floor. But it does depend on if you dump or slip the clutch. Dump = set it higher.

6k RPM is high!
