Default Run 90mph in the 1/8? What's your ET?

Just trying to figure out how much I'm leaving on the table and what it's capable of with better efficiency. I don't know the weight or HP. So far, I've only made 2 clean passes, the best of which was:

1.78 60'
7.97@90mph

The 4l60 slips a bit and it seems to die in 3rd gear because it shifts at too low of an rpm.
Anyway, what should I be running, given that mph and 60'?

The mph is good for high 7.5 from what I can figure out, but it's a matter of where the car makes the mph and where the car makes the ET.

What gear do you have in the car? What size tire in the back?

3.73/26" tire- 235-60-15 tire. I figure there's possibly .4-.5 tenths left in it, judging from the trans slip. It's also never been tuned since the head/cam swap. I leaned the PE out quite a bit, just to keep it from popping/breaking up. I also copy/pasted a Z06 timing advance graph as opposed to the factory Tahoe timing. That seemed to help as well. But I know the car could benefit from a professional tune.

At that mph you should be good for some high 11's according to your 60ft.. Get that 60ft down and your mid 11's for sure..

Not much I can do about the 60' unless I swap gears/converter again. It dead hooks, but only foot brakes to ~1800rpm.

See sig. A fuzz over 91mph has gotten me 7.34 in the 1/8. 26" tire, 235 wide.

Sig: 99 Hardtop Pewter Z28 - Bolt ons, stall, 8.8: 1/4 - 11.66 @ 113.2 1/8 - 7.34 @ 91.5 60' - 1.52

I have some slips with around 1.78 60' that I'll look at and let you know what the 1/8 was.

Wow, that 60'... What converter and gears are you running? I was expecting more from my converter, but I can barely keep it stopped at stoplights. Way too tight.

Yank SS4000 with 3.73s in the 8.8. Yeah, converter sounds ways too tight.

I found 2 slips:
1.777 60' came out to 7.693 @ 90.53 mph
And
1.786 60' 7.737 @ 90.18

I'd say you should be looking for around a 7.75 with 90mph and 1.78 60' in the 1/8

What did you do to go from 1.7s to 1.5s? Are you just footbraking or transbrake?

On the 255/50/r16 toyo tq tires, I went from high 1.7s to low 1.6s by adding a set of Strange rear single adjustable shocks. The stiffer I went on them, the better the 60' got.
Never able to dead hook, but 60' improved quite a bit. Then I put on some mt 235 pro drag radials and went low 1.5s with dead hook.

What do you consider high compression and what are you running for fuel. If you are running E85 and have 11:1 or so psi you can set squeeze some power out of it. Pump gas and I’d be willing to bet you can’t add too much more.

I've ran 7.55 at 88.9 mph with a 1.58 60 ft. FTI 4,000 stall, 255 drag radials, S60 with 4.10s.

7.532 @ 91.81 mph and 7.601 @ 90.89. Mods in sig. Viking rear coilovers set at 10c/8r (a touch more than 1/2 firm). 60' was 1.71 on both.
