Default Drag racing and 12mm arp wheel studs

I ordered a moser 12 bolt few years and got it with the factory sized wheel studs for the wheels I had. But now I have racestars and put the same size arp studs in it. I've been drag racing on some weekends and was wondering how strong the wheel studs are? So far I've ran 10.1 at 145mph. Once I get the suspension tuned in it should be running at least mid 9s. Is there an easy way to upgrade or are these arps Okay?

The 60' time and weight is what will kill your studs. But your mph says your making some good power. If you plan on launching harder I'd be moving up to 1/2".

In my h/c trans am it would only trap 120 with 1.9-2.1 60' times. When I made some changes to try and get it to hook my very first pass hooked real good and sheared the Moser brand hardened studs off at the starting line. The rear had maybe 200 miles on so it wasn't as if it was old and wore out. I think arp's are better than moser's brand but looking like a fool in front of everyone with your car on the floor boards is not fun. Lesson learned and it won't be happening again

I sheared all my 12-bolt Moser studs off too. Car made maybe 550rwhp tops and weighed 3500lbs. Had a few transbrake leaves on the bottle, high 1.3's to low 1.4's, and a few thousand street miles. Wheels always properly torqued with a torque wrench. Bad luck or bad parts, I dunno?

I've been running the Strange 12mm screw in wheel studs on my MWC Fab9 since 2011 with 0 issues! No power adder but been launching on slicks dumpin the clutch at 6500. Just a lil LS3 stroker is all I got! Plenty of 1.5 60s, 1.50s, 1.51s

Is there an easy way to convert to 1/2" without having to send the axles out to be drilled?

If your axles are already drilled for 1/2" studs then get those and new lug nuts and be done with it.

The axles in my s60 were drilled for both as well.

my axles are not drilled for 1/2" studs. Looks like if I'm going to upgrade I'll have to pull them out and send them to be drilled out.

Look at your studs. Most are necked down.
You may be able to go with a straight stud ?

Vs.

I've looked for some 1/2" that would fit but can't seem to find any that would work. I believe the studs in it now are .509 knurl or something. I've could arp 100-7731 that are for c5 vettes that convert to 1/2" but don't list many specs on it or anyone that has tried them

+1, if you have to send them out anyway, go straight to 5/8
