Default Share HP Tuners Drag Racing Log Files?

There are some good tune & log files available in the HP Tuners Repository, but I haven't found any good drag race log files. I'll share one in the hopes that others might share theirs.

The attached run was 11.50, 116 MPH. Short-shifting and with reduced timing to fit into an 11.50 index class.

Just getting started with this LS car on the drag strip - would love to see log files from some of your really good running cars!

Awesome idea! I am on the fence between swapping to a carb, or keep fuel injection and this may help out.

I know certain racers and tuners like to keep things to themselves - and I understand. I'm not suggesting posting the actual Tune file - just some typical log files to get a picture of a "good" LS run.

In my file, for example, since I'm de-tuning a bit, I start the run with normal timing, to hit the tree, then cut it back to run the index. Maybe that's a good thing - maybe not, it was just an idea. My AFR is pretty good during the run, but not great on the launch. I'd like to learn what a good LS run really looks like.

Just curious, why would you want to switch to a carb?

Default Log File

I took a screen shot of my log file (attached), which doesn't require HP Tuners to open. Maybe if folks aren't comfortable posting the actual file (with all of its details), they would consider showing us a screen shot.

I have a car that I only bracket race. It's not registered, so I don't drive it on the street. It's a 99 that is completely stock except for a set of long tubes and a lid. I've done some free mods as well.

I'd like to tune it myself, but being able to do that on Test and Tune nights seems like it would take a while, and paying someone to tune it on a dyno won't teach me anything and give me the power I want to have over what the car does.

So I'm on the fence still. I have a dual plane intake and MSD box already, but there is a lot of wiring and fuel system stuff to be done. I still have the stock LS1 intake manifold and throttle body, so I figured that'd need to be upgraded anyway.

Just a matter of pulling the trigger and doing something I guess. I plan on picking up a weather station, so that should help me out some more.

The last time out I won no box and made it down to 4 cars in sportsman and went -.008, so I can't really complain about the car at all and am leaning towards not changing anything at all.

I'd like to tighten it up so that it won't move so much with weather and potentially run e85.

My wife and I stricty race a 99 and 02.We both run stock FI. If you think your car can get it done now why change?I bet a lot of carb guys want to go FI but don't because of the initial cost.

Here is an 1/8th mile run.
Car weighs over 4000lbs with me in it. Ran a 7.500@90 mph (roughly 11.70 in the 1/4). Intake temp was 95*. Next time to the track, I want to work on trying to get rid of the flat spot right when I take off.
Check out my scan and see if anything jumps out.

4.10 gears, 28" tall drag radials

That log says you need a better intake... Probably.

I agree! I bet a FAST lsxrt would really shine on my combo.

I think this is a great idea. I've been looking for some more logs to see what I can do to improve my time.

My truck isn't your normal setup for ls1tech, but I am dealing with very similar tuning capability as my truck is running a P59 PCM.

I have a 03 S10 4.3l V6 with a GT35R running about 17psi of boost on the run in the log attached. My 2-bar map sensor only reads to ~205 kpa so I have it tuned a little rich. I already have a 3-bar map sensor for next year.

I have tested using the idle timing table to use as a cheap launch control and built ~10psi of boost with no problem at all. Now I'm worried about giving the 4L60E and my 7.5 rear end too much power.
