Deleted the ps cooler and installed hose for 98 z28 also replaced ps pump, lines and cleaned up all the old fluid that had been leaking for years.. and threw on a Hawks billet pulley for easy removal in the future

assumed the alternator was on it's way out from the ps leaking on it.. so grabbed at 145a kg3 off a Escalade from the junkyard

Stock explorer lsd carrier with stock 3.73 gears. I reused all the bearings except the outer pinion one because it got weld splatter on the race. I did replace the clutches with the Cobra carbon kit.

Here's my 8.8 thread if you haven't seen it yet.

Just checked it out .. nice work Brian! I'm jealous you have the 8.8 tubes . You thinking about doin a 4.10 in the future?
I'm probably gonna go ahead and yank out the mini spool and replace with one of those 31 spline trac lock carriers with carbon clutches on ebay... they are only $230 shipped. And go to a 3.90 or 4.10 and possibly some of those Dutchmen axles .

I'm on the edge of running out of rpm now with 3.73 and a 28" tire on nitrous. If I go turbo, then I'll go down to a 3.55 or 3.31/3.27, but I'll stay 3.73 for now.

Got tired of the cluster being lit up like a Christmas tree. Took the cluster apart and removed the led bulbs for abs inop, brake, service vehicle, asr, and airbag .
Also placed an order to superbrightleds.com for some new bulbs.

8.8 completed

10 bolt removed

Did a complete abs delete, also removed ebrake assembly to help offset the added weight of the 8.8..already pitched ebrake cable and shoes before pic..maybe removed 20-25lbs?

8.8 installed
