Default What gear ratio with a 28” bias ply slick?

i have a stock weight 93 firebird formula with a m6. Its a turbo and has 600rwhp and 630rwtq. I’m going to be buying 28x10.5x15 bias ply slicks and buying a mwc 9” rear. I’d like to find the correct gear ratio before I order the rear and center section. I’ve never dragged this car, as it’s a fresh build, but I will be racing the quarter mile. I’ll also include that I’ll be red lining in the mid 6000’s. I’ll be driving it on the street quite a bit btw.

I would go 3:55's 3:23's range. I think the 3:73's might be to much for a turbo car.

3.42-3.55 seems to be common for the turbo 6 speed guys

373 will put you going through the traps at 141 mph and 6400 rpm. Depending on your weight that might be about right.

If you went 4.11, you'd be at 7000 rpm at 141 mph

Thanks. That’s what I was looking for. I just talked to Bob from BruteSpeed and ordered a moser 9” with 3.70 gearing. Figured it would be a bit more streetable than a lower gear.

Ahhh, Im not so sure. My car on the wastegate (7psi) destroys drag radials from any speed, like 80+mph. Im considering un-gearing my car bc its unmanageable. If it ever sticks its gonna roll out, but on the street thats not gonna happen often due to poor surfaces.

I spin em 80+ mph with my 3.23s as is. I’ll be happy to cruise around town in 3rd instead of being somewhere between 2nd and 3rd at 35 mph. That’s all I mean by more streetable. I forgot to mention that its a 6 speed car
