How do trap speeds done on prepped car/track translate to street ?
 

I was looking at similar setups on same model cars and how their track times/trap speeds differed.
For example there's a guy who works part time for Magnuson superchargers and he ran a high 10@129 claiming the basic heartbeat kit with supplied canned tune as only mod on his 16 SS A8.

He also trailors his car to track and has full drag pack with Hoosier slicks+skinnies on front.
Car made like 540 whp on that setup also

Seems like the guys who run the real drag packs (17"welds w/ slicks) run significantly faster times and traps than guys on a drag radial. Despite similar 60' times
I wouldn't consider the drag pack setup streetable unless you're going short distances in dry weather.
I don't think he would beat or even hang with the average 129 mph car on the street especially from a roll

6th gen A8's are geared very well for quarter mile and the drag pack+real slicks have put other 6th gen A8's with only a few boltons faster than him.

​​​​​​It seems the auto gearing advantage of newer muscle cars and modern wheel/tire options have given us the illusion that these track superstar's timeslips translate into world-beaters in real world conditions.

I see alot off people comparing trap speeds in here and would like to know what everybody thinks about how they translate to street

The lighter wheels and tires will always translate to better trap speeds due to the less rotating weight

I have zero experience with drag packs but I'm interested now that I'm boosted
How much would you estimate the drag pack helps compared to just a drag radial like Nitto/Mickey Thompson's ?
