Re: Calculate your engine's true HP/Torque Curves Steve , the best information i could find on your car was Drag Coefficient (Cd) = .34 Frontal Area (Sq.Ft. as per 80 % Shape Factor) = 21.522 effective Fa the 15" wheel you posted , i assumed it was the diameter of the wheel ? , but i needed the width of the wheel or rim , so i guessed it might be also 10.0" wide results were ; Torque Converter Lockup percent= 86.40 % Torque Converter Slippage = 13.6 % ----------------------------------------------- Tire Rollout at Start = 82.3 inches rollout Tire Rollout at 1/4 mile = 82.8 inches rollout ----------------------------------------------- Tire Growth = 0.5 inches in rollout @ 1320 Ft Peak HP=562.4 Peak Torque=519.3 note= you posted "crossed around 5000 rpm" and along with guess on rim width , those 2 guesses could throw off the Torque Converter Slippage/LockUp percents ..but it should still be close to actual numbers . Before the 1/8 mile (660 Ft) Tire Traction losses and launch RPM is consuming a lot of HP during the run. After 660 Ft to 1320 , especially around the 1000 Ft ET , the engine is making maximum HP |

Re: Calculate your engine's true HP/Torque Curves Steve , Peak HP=562.4 Peak Torque=519.3 was the "AVERAGE" Flywheel HP and Torque produced averaged over the ENTIRE 1/4 mile . the SuperCharger 346 cid along with 2.73 rear gear, 1100 launch, with 3500 Stall with a traction problem , is causing a great amount of HP loss around 1000 Ft ET mark , the engine showed as much as 632.0 Peak FLYWHEEL HP and 583.5 Peak Torque Approx. shows 7.833 psi and 153.3 Ve % For Automatic Trans w/Converter you might have approx. 85.0 % Drivetrain Efficiency which should give you 537.2 Peak RWHP and 496.0 Peak RWTQ very hard to model your car , my program does very accurate calculations as cars accelerate down track without traction or launch problems ..like for example , ProStock Cars or Trucks , NHRA Comp Eliminator Cars, NHRA Super Stock classes, ProStock MotorCycles, NHRA Stocker classes, and very good chassis bracket cars the program looses accuracy quickly on servere traction losses , Nitrous button being pressed off on on during run, and throttle-stops . |

Re: Calculate your engine's true HP/Torque Curves yes it is floored. I think it is because of the tall 2.73 gears. Boost drops down in 3rd gear quite a bit as I drop to only about 5000 rpm and I also have a constant rate water/alky system flowing, so it goes a little rich as well in top gear. All in all I begin to drop power by the end of the run. It shifts into 3rd at a bit over 100mph. What do you think it could do with decent traction 60fting around a 1.55? I know it can do that on a better tire as I used to run 1.60's with these gears with less power. Steve |

Rear Tire rollout at 1320 Ft= 82.600 inches Rear Tire rollout growth = .600 inches you have an "EXTREMELY" efficient torque converter Torque Converter LockUp percent % = 95.19 Torque Converter Slippage % = 4.81 Torque Converter Peak Multiplication = 1.900 Peak Engine Volumetric Efficiency % = 111.70 Ve Ram-Air HP gain = 9.400 HP The fact that the car really hooks and the very efficient, high torque multiplication converter combine to launch the car extremely well !!!
