Finally ordered a trailer!
I finally got around to ordering a trailer for my Z28. It's a budget "Aztec Oklahoma" car carrier, open center, dove tail, 6' ramps, 4 wheel brakes, and deck plating on the runners. It's 83" between the fenders. After tax&licence the total came out to $1750 or so and it will be ready for pickup in a week and a half. I was looking around at used ones in the $1000-$1200 range but I figured I might as well get exactly what I want for a little more.

I guess you have a full pledge race car now. All of your fine tunning and race ready mods can be done at the house and when you get to the track--all you got to do is unload and drive. Cheers

Congrats Terry. I am playing with the idea of a trailor. I am going to consider it seriously in a few months.
That should make racing that much more enjoyable.

A trailer makes it a ton easier at the track! Some local guys try to call my car a trailer queen, but it sure makes going to the races SO simple. You just unload, warm it up, and pull into the lanes. Besides, I'll have a way to get home if the 10-bolt craps on me. Now just buy an EZ-UP canopy to go over the trailer while you're at the races, and you're set.

It doesn't work that way Terry. Remember what I said about how you need to assume that not everyone is mentally stable on the net? As a friendly warning, I'd not push this one any longer, Stealth has emailed me and lets just say I wouldn't want to **** him off.
PS, he goes to California almost monthly on business.
And about the trailers, they make racing MUCH more enjoyable! Now I don't have to change friggin tires twice per night if I want to race. Changing tires sucks! The only bad thing is now I have to do some laps in the parking lot to get my tranny up to operating temp so that it will shift smoother. Besides that, everything else is better. I'm also not worried so much about busting the car now since its not my only vehicle.

Re: Finally ordered a trailer!
All I needed for the truck to tow was a hitch. I'm pretty sure you have to buy those for most trucks. With just an air filter and muffler the track is almost as quick as the 5.3L boys and a lot of fun to drive! I love the truck.

I'm thinking the anemic 4.3L will be lacking in that dept.

Re: Finally ordered a trailer!
The 4.3L isn't ideal for towing but it will be adequate. People tow with six bangers all the time. The truck is mainly to drive around while I have the camaro apart anyway, so as long as I can tow once every couple of months I'll be fine.

Jay that is what I'm hoping. I've taken so much stuff off I must weight around 2200# fully loaded now. NHRA doesn't require doors or a hatch!
