Are 10's Possible

with my QMP kit and all the right suspension, could i go 10s? this is assuming i get somewhere between 550 and 600rwhp and that or more torque. turbo is a t-74 q trim with a .96 A/R. what do you guys think?

defentially possible.

Also it looks like your car is able to produce a little extra boost with the 6.0 heads and lower compression.
I would have done at least a Z06 cam or better yet a Turbo cam while I had the heads off for the most benifit.
Get some suspension (torque arm, LCA's, shock's etc) and you will be on your way.
Make sure you get a REALLY good tune and have a safe AF Ratio and do a Phat burnout at the track.
In the NA world it takes most 6 speed guys (within 150lbs of full weight) somewhere in the neighborhood of 475 HP to touch the 10's. If you can make 550-600 and put the power to the ground you will be there with ease.
PS you will also have to be a good driver.

im a decent driver. not to worriied about that. so why the difference between na and FI cars? power is power, right? i know it takes time for the turbo to spool but not that long. so what gives

I think so for sure :) Might want to throw in a turbo spec cam and good springs as well.

Oh yes springs will be your best friend.
So easy to have but on but so hard to fix without them if things go wrong.

Well the difference probally isn't as big as it seem's.
Here is what happens quite often. Most people have a budget.
If you go NA vs FI quite often your budget allow's for some of the small thing's that the FI guys dont.
I guess look at it this way. A 500 RWHP 6 speed with the money spend on Track tires, suspension, tune, etc might cost the same as you FI setup.
Also you have added 150 or so lbs to your car and probally have a HELL of a time geting traction even at the track.
Most FI car MPH great but 60ft bad due to poor traction.
Also you are only talking 100 HP here. When you are running 11.0's 100 extra HP is only about .5-.6 tenths faster. Well if you catch a 1.9 60 ft vs a 1.5 60 ft the difference at the end of the track is very little.

so the only difference b/w a fi and na car on the time is traction? so if i can get all the power to the ground and use it, along with a 2 step would i run the same times as a na car given everything else is the same. asuming this is a perfect world and both passes are identical, just one is in a fi car and the other a na car?

also the budget part of it isnt bad considering i only gave 9k for the car and 4k for the turbo set up, then add in all the other stuff like a clutch and everything else. so far i only have about 17k in the car which isnt bad. that is what i owed on the last car that i had.

KAOS Jul 12, 2004 12:24 AM

by the way 6 tenths is a big deal, that takes an 11.0 car down to a 10.4! big big difference
