What aftermarket seats fit with MWC 8 point cage? Looking for a set of aftermarket seats. MWC will be installing an 8 point cage, so I am unsure on what will and will not fit now. I've had a set of Corbeau Forza's in the past, and liked them alright, however there was no cage to interfere with fitment. Just looking for some suggestions. |
I really like my kirkeys |

I used to work on a lot of cages,, I always installed the desired seats FIRST then fit the cage around them. Sucks when you don't fit in the car right ,, But I worked on road race cars and no bolt ins allowed.. |

Which do you have? |
One thing to take in to account,, How fast is the car going to go, I don't use tube frame seats on anything that might be going over about 90 when it crashes. When you buy the kirkey seat you buy it in a width, make sure its wide enough that you can line it with high density foam at least a half inch thick, then can put the seat cover over it all. If you might be going over 120 when you crash,, get a seat with containment. Make sure with the seat mounted and you bucked in that your helmet can't hit the roll bar, allow fo r4 to 6 inches of belt stretch. Use FIA hard foam on all the bars around where you sit. It can save your legs and arms big time. If your going to go 5 point, consider a 6, way easier on the tender parts.. Arm restraints are a good thing,, they can save you a lot of flail damage.. |
Ultra-Carbon seat.... lightest and strong |
I like my kirkeys, very comfortable. I've got the pro streets in 17 width. |
Just a fyi, depending on how tall and wide you are is to weather or not your gonna have to cut the floor. My kirkey 55185 seat is almost on the floor and under the door bar and riding on the driveshaft tunnel I doubt you are 6'5" 300 tho. lol |
