I don't know the part number but you will have to get an electrical plug also...the ls6 maf has a one piece plug...cut and splice.....antway to insulate the maf with a small heat blanket like the one used for starters?

Yeah, I'm thinking about wrapping the MAF and doing some testing.

Pat who needs an IAT sensor? Just put a $.10 resistor in there and be done with it.

Good point Terry.

I was thinking of hunting down all three connectors, finding the IAT sensor, the gasket, then soldering it together in a harness, drilling a hole in the front of the intake, etc.

I think 57 deg is 5k ohms? Hell, I'll just check the ohms at 70 deg and find one that size.

But... I was thinking that if it works (the harness) I could sell them. Vette owners will buy anything... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Default World's Slowest 2002 Z06??? IAT Sensor to blame?

Ran my Z06 for the first time last weekend.

Ran a best of 12.48@110 on ET Streets.

WHAT??? 110mph??? Never hit 111 after a dozen passes. My SS Camaro was 300 heavier (raceweight), 30rwhp less and ran 112 at that track!

Reason? Autotapped 2 passes. IAT was 145-151 during the passes. Water was 205-225. 02's were .91-.95. Timing - 13 to 20 degrees. 0 KR. Math says it was making ~310rwhp.

Why? Well water temp explains maybe 15rwhp, but the killer was the IAT. Knocked the crap outta the timing and added fuel even with no KR!!! The LS6 uses a IAT Sensor in MAF I believe. Didn't have a chance to look yet. SO if the MAF get heat-soaked, it gives false high's on the IAT sensor.

They put the MAF right next to the radiator. THe LS1 setup makes more sense. I will try to get a LS1 IAT and move it to a different location ahead of the radiator.

Anyone know the PN# for a LS1 IAT sensor?
