Re: Anyone running or ran 10s on stock bottome end
I think only a couple of us have made with a true stock from GM like it came in the car shortblock.
Jantzer Stage I Heads (stock intake valves, 1.57 exaust)
TP4400 Convertor, stock trans, stock rearend
4.10 gears
MMS 224 .535 cam
Around 3200lbs when I first hit 10's. Now down around 3050 or so and dropping.
It doesn't take a crazy heads/cam setup. Use the TP4400. And get it light. It's actually really easy.
BTW, Terry Burger copied me and made it. So you can too.

Thats awesome. I was thinking of that converter and then going with a spool and 4.56 gears just for that added advantage against the 4.10 guys out there.

I'm going with more gear as well but you'll need more tire also. I switched to 28's from 26's and didn't slow down much. With 4.56's you'll need more tire if you plan to run 120+.
I'm also swapping in a 9"/12 bolt with spool cause the stocker finally had enough.
I think it's possible to run 10's with a cam only car.

Re: Anyone running or ran 10s on stock bottome end
For the heads i have a set of 5.3 heads which should add some more power when i get them ported and polished over ls1 heads. Yeah i definately want a 9 or 12 bolt to go with the gears. To save weight i have a glasstek 4" cowl hood. No back seats. And will run skinnies. Does anyone make a 27" slick cause i dont want to have to modify the car for 28" unless i have no other choice.

It will run. But not for very long with the size cam you will need. Talk about all the regualar muscle car rattles.

John Helms ran a 10.7 with heads and cam and a small shot of N20. If I remember correctly Colenel--he hasn't done the weight reduction you did yet.

Re: Anyone running or ran 10s on stock bottome end
I ran 10.83@124 in TRUE STOCK form, no cam's, no heads, no weight reductions, no suspension mods, no different rearend or gears, No LS6 intake, No light weight wheels or battery etc etc etc you get my point.
The mods I had when I ran my 10.8 was grott headers, airlid(the true secret for 10's) , Yank 3600E, Nx wet shot with stock fuel system (175 shot) and ET streets mounted on salad shooters. 3500lb race weight.
I now have alot more mods done but have been unable to hit the track yet this year. Hoping for a 10.4ish on the stock motor then i might start with the head and cam stuff.

Re: Anyone running or ran 10s on stock bottome end
N/A is more difficult but with juice it's no problem.
I ran with my messed up ARE heads, a 125hp dry kit, 3/4 tank of gas, no tuning and with wheelspin and got an 11.13@122.7 the other day. So anyone with a halfway decent set of heads/cam and a small shot of nitrous could do it.
My buddy Dan went 10.86@126 with S1 heads/cam, mid size converter, 150hp wet-kit.
Sooo a bigger should of nitrous might make up for the cam but I'd be doing some serious weight reduction if you plan on running an internally stock block (no pistons, no cam etc) in the 10's.

Re: Anyone running or ran 10s on stock bottome end
I really want to do this NA. I know i will have to get the 4400 torque converter. And some decent heads and cam.
