You'll have to do some hammering inside the wheelwells also... The section width of the 29.5x10.5 is pretty wide (can't remember right off hand exactly what it is). I ran M/T 29.5x10.5's on my car for about the last year it was together. I'm narrowing the rear end now, and doing a semi mini-tub to tuck them up underneath the car now...

29.5 is pretty big Camn, Chris has some on his car and he had to do some surgery on his car. I've seen Hoosier 29x10.0's on cars, but you might end up cutting your ground effects.

As you can the 28x10.5-W is actually .7" wider than a 29.5x10.5 tire, however the height/rollout of the 28x10.5W is less or the tire is shorter.
Put it this way, the 28x10.5 will fit with no modification. The 29.5x10.5 you WILL need to trim the bumper and bang the fender well. The 28x10.5-W will fit with no bumper cutting but you will need alot more inner fender/frame hammering than the 29.5x10.5.
I set my car up for 29.5x10.5, I would need to hammer some more to fit a 28W tire on my car. I am currently running the GoodYear 30x10.5 because the actualy measure the same a 29.5x105 MT, I like the GoodYear compound better.

here are some pictures
here are some pictures of the work required to install a tire that tall.
click on 30" drag radials.

we also rolled the fender lips and did some cuting and welding above the front LCA mount.

But you need to account for tire growth with a 30" tall slick, too...
A radial tire won't grow at high speeds like a bias-ply tire does.
In any case, it takes some surgery to fit a big tire like that...
