New best for my bracket racer, and a win!
Well, I've invaded rollbar territory!!
I know, not all that impressive for a carb'd 355, but hey it's in a 3400 pound box on pump gas with 3.73 gears and a 3400 stall JW 10" convertor that's very streetable.
My best run last night (in the 1st round of the GM trophy class)broke down like this:
rt- .528
60- 1.686
330-4.897
1/8-7.583
mph-91.23
no 1000 foot time
dial-12.02
1/4-11.931
mph 111.99
I beat the guy tapping the gas(ironically running a 12.78 on a 12.90 dial in a red ls1 Camaro), so I figure the car had a 112 mph pass in it. I ended up dialing 12.00 all night due to no rollbar in the car, and ended up winning the GM class trophy hitting the brakes on every run and short-shifting the car by 300 rpm in each gear. The track then had a runoff between the GM, Ford, and other make trophy winner for a King of the Hill 3 foot trophy. I somehow came away with that as well!!
What a great way to end the year, and I got to witness George's first 9 second run! (well I saw the scoreboard light up from the pits, but missed the actual run )

It's just too bad you had to pass up possibly better runs in order to keep racing! Good job, now get a cage!

Re: New best for my bracket racer, and a win!
I'm still debating whether to add a bar to it. That run was at 1/4 tank of gas it the best air I've seen in a while, and since they didn't say anything to me on either of my 11 second runs, I'll probably leave it without a bar for a while. Car will probably run 12.30s in summertime, so until I build me a John Rollins motor in a few years(unless I win Lotto-$60 million ) to run 11.50s I'll just short shift the car in the winter.
