I'm gunna give the old short belt a try the next time I'm at the race track. What size is it guys?
I am gunna get a offroad ypipe after xmas.
I ran a 13.302@105.4 last Sunday and I want to improve that. I'm gunna try some drag radials, short belt, program my shift points and some weight reduction here soon.
The last pass I made was going to go 13.20's but it spun kinda bad. On the 13.3 it hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift and broke loose in second so I think that 13.1's or 13.0's are possible with soem good track prep.

i think its easily possible from my experience with my car. with drag radials and decent weather id almost be guaranteed some 12's. but im tired of mild so im going with either a vig 3200 or ss3600 and e.t. streets

You need to let the car come down to idle at the starting line.. then stomp it when the lights come down.. this will make it "stall" up futher.
Guess is that you care running GSC's? I've found that they like the air pressure right around 22psi. Put 50 psi in the fronts for less rolling resistance.
Moving this to the Drag Racing section.

I done it way back in the days with a whisperlid,cutout,3.73s and Nittos (12.78@110xx 1.91 60ft.) It helps to have 50 degree temps also but i went 12.96@107 1.96 60ft. in 70 degree air with the same mods before that. Man that brings back the old days when things were simple

I agree with honda, save your money and just get a torque converter, A lot of good things have been said about midwest converters.and they are around 500.00 do the converter first and youll easily be in the 12s. But tractions my become an issue,Hold off on the gears for a while A4s biggest gain is in the converter hands down.

all you need is some weight reduction and drag radials. How deep into the 12's do you want to be though before swaping converters? I ran a 12.6 in good weather before I went to another converter. That was with air lid, free mods, 3240 lbs weight(without driver), front sway bar removed, hypertech programmer and 160* stat, & weld prostars stinnys up front and and nittos on the rear. It can be done easily. Also some excellent weather would be good too.
Here's my whole pass listed for you.
1.969 - 60'
8.182 - 1/8
88.96 - mph
12.637 - 1/4
110.64 - mph
Good Luck!

Josh, I somehow got mine in the 12s earlier this year with m/t sportsman pros, and would have cracked the 12s again at a recent test and tune, but I had to settle for 13.0s at 107 on gsc's. you'll get there, just keep plugging away!
BTW I've always launched mine at about 900-1000 rpm for the best 60 foots.

I forgot I'm going to run a cut-out when I get the y-pipe.
The car ran the 13.30 on a set of SLICK Falken ZX1's(or something like that)
If I could get my car to see a 3300 or 3400 lb weight w/out driver I could get some 13.1's the way it sits.
