I posted and with my new rearend a few guys thought i could go mid 11's. But now my wuestions is what would be the next cheapest thing to get into the tens?????? I know it sounds dumb but i have never had a "10 second car". So now i have my hopes up.

I dont think you'll be anywhere near mid 11s the way it sits, unless you gut it and get it on some 25.5" slicks.

i have not run the car since it was stock, i didn;t think it was a midd 11 car but if you look at this post
post
a few others thought so. So what do i need to do for atleast a 11.5??? Will nitrous get me there?? Or into the tens???

If you are at full weight I would be surprised if you pulled anything faster than a mid 12 at a sea level track - assuming you have at least drag radials or ET streets. You have added very little horse power over stock. It's nice having a light weight flywheel but some would argue that it would slow you down. I know the STB will slow you down. Remove it and sell it to someone who road races. While you're at it remove the front sway bar.
Subframe connectors slowed me down when I was at your power level. I'm not saying I wouldn't love having your car but it's not the amount of money you spend that makes you go fast. You have added maybe 40 rwhp which is not anough to put you in the 11's unless your car weighs 2,400 lbs. Look on the fastest M6 list and see what cars in your area are running with the same mods as you. Better yet, go to the track and see what you can pull out of the old girl. It's not just who makes the most power - you have to know how to drive it as well.
Good luck with your 10 second goal. I think there are only a handful of M6 cars that are in the 10's. There's probably more if you count NOS but I'll have to look.

reason for stb- i want an all around car not a drag car
reason for subframe- to tighten chasis, i like the feel for every day driving
I want to build a 310ci motor eventually
Would a 150 shot of no2 get me into the mid elevens

I agree with the others. Looks like mid 12's with your setup. Throw a cam and good headers in that baby, and with some ET Drags you'll be in the mid 11's. I am running 12.1's on Nittos. Check sig

I think there is definately an 11 second pass in the car with that rear and slicks. You did ask in the other post how it would run with the 3.90 gears and a 8.8". All you have to do is have a good track, know how to drive, and be willing to dump the clutch at 6000. With decent weight reduction, you would be at the mid 11s. The easiest way to the 10s would be a 100-150 shot. You could sell the nitrous when you decide to go the turbo route. You do know that if you go turbo, you will have to get some custom headers, right? Just wondering since you mentioned not wanting to mess with the headers that you have now.

EDIT: maybe I misread your other post....you might have meant that you don't want to mess with the Hooker headers because you will be replacing them anyway for the turbo....

The 98's have good injectors and can handle a 150 wet shot. Although, I would upgrade the fuel pump. If you're going to get a turbo then do the fuel upgrades now and increase your jets on the NOS to a 200 shot. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Like said before - NOS is easy to resale. I can promise that after you feel the hit of a 200 shot you might rethink getting that turbo. You could go through 100 bottles of NOS before you paid for just the turbo.

To clarify, I'm sure he didn't mean to suggest that injector size has anything to do with how large of a wet shot you can run. Dry shot, yes. Wet shot, no.

yeah i meant that i would not be replacing the headers for more na power since i will be for the turbo/s. also can you run a 150-200 wet without any pooling of fuel. A few hondas we have built had problems with fuel pooling in the intake. These were not installs done by us, and it is aparently just something that happens over a 75 on those motors. my dreams of a 10.9 seem so close yet so far. Thanks for all the info.

can you run a 4.10 in a ten second car???? Will i be able to make a 10.9 pass with it?? Or is the 390 better??

Now that is a simple function of what trap speed do you anticipate? What tire height? And what RPM are you comfortable turning?

You can run 5.13s in a 8 second car if you can turn enough RPMs.

About the pooling of fuel. Some people have no problems with a 300 wet shot and some people have pooling with a 150 shot. I think it has alot to do with how you introduce the fuel and at what RPM.

if it is a 150 introduced above 3700 will it pool? And the same for a 100? I would probably run the 100 on the street.
can everything internally take a 150??

Well as far as the internals taking it,my opinion is yes ,no problem (if set up and used correctly). i have run a 150 wet shot on my car all year and have been rewarded with my first "11 second timeslip. i only have the bottle with nittos and free mods to date. since the track closed i have gutted the cats but i really do not like the sound it has now(doohh). I think your biggest hurdle is that you have a stick,i would like a stick to drive around in town but not at the track .
