Real lightweight carpet vs. homemade lightweight carpet I have removed all of the sound deadener from underneath my carpet. I am not prepared to back-half my carpet, though. Is there still significant weight to be found by going to some lightweight carpet from LS1Speed? How would the two compare as far as interior noise? Thanks a lot.

Re: Real lightweight carpet vs. homemade lightweight carpet I would think the stock carpet would be quieter.The stock carpet has a thick rubber mat type base and the lightweight carpet has a thin plastic type base.The lightweight carpet does also come with some sound deadening material.Might I add the lightweight carpet installs and fits very nicely.
