Poor and Inconsisten 60's....Think it may be trans brake
I have just about every suspension mod you can do, so that's not really the problem. No spinning or anything, but today barely broke a 1.59 but most were 1.67's. When I push the trans brake button, the car rolls a little bit and then stops. Sometimes it rolls more than others. When I get my best 60's, it's when the RPM's haven't quite reached the stall point and they are still climbing and I let off the button. (I have a 3600 conv.) If I rev it all the way to 3600 and wait, then let off the button, that's when it seems like I get the lower 60's. Does the trans brake need tightening or something and what does that include? Thanks.

Your solenoid might not quite be getting enough juice to engage quickly (I used to have the same problem with my TH350.)
For consistency you need a two-step. Try setting it 500-800 RPM below the true stall speed of the converter.

What kind of tranny do you have?
TH350's are notorious for tranny brake problems like you describe. The internal design of the TH350 just does not work well with a transbrake. If you want a brake that will work every time, you need a TH400 or powerglide.
If you don't believe me, next time you're at the track, look around at the serious electronics class bracket racers, and see how many TH350 trannies you see... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
