Default th 400/4000 stall - w/bolt-ons, 11.97 @112 n/a

went to the track finally with the new set-up.it WAS, m6, 4.10s, nittos, grotts, y-pipe, cat-back, free-mods.i made 1 pass.12.5@111 with 1.86 60ft(3520 race weight).it was an easy pass, then i tried to leave aggresivly and broke posi-unit and gears.so i decided to ditch the brutal launch of a m6 in favor for softer launch of an auto.i changed to 3.42s th400/trans-king 4000 stall.i lost 30hp on dyno, but tonite i ran 11.97/112 w/1.66 60ft.this was on nittos,1/2 tank of gas(for traction).about 3550 race weight.i still need a pulley, ls-6 intake, slicks/ .and i can remove about 100-150lbs by changing from 16in rims to some light weight rims, and some other weight removal.i think i can obtain some 11.6xs with these mods.so anyone curious about swapping to th400...it wont hurt.btw a th400 with 9in converter weighs within 5-10lbs of m6 with flywheel and clutch stuff.my raceweight increased only because i had 1/2 tank of gas. now, wheres my damn nitrous bottle??

Congrats getting into 11's. Getting some lightweight wheels and tires should take around 80 pounds off your car. There are a lot of other things you can do to lightening it up. I bumped Colonels weight reduction list for ya. Check it out. It has a lot info on weights of different items.

If you are having problems with traction there is plenty of weigth that can be taken off the front. 20 pounds for front bumper supports, 15 pounds for front swaybar and brakets, 20 pounds for light weight battery and 35 pounds with a fiberglass hood. That adds up to close to 100 pounds off the front.

Nice times Kip! I know you are relieved to drive the car to the track and drive it home too <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
No more broken driveline <img border="0" alt="[bomb]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bomb.gif" /> for you.

Kip once you get that car hooking you should be way into the 11's. Since you now have an A3 like crusty... does this make your car ghetto as well??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_images/icons/tongue.gif" />

Glad to see another TH400 conversion going well...

I had some issues when I first got my TH400 setup...

I had Bilstein shocks all around, Firehawk rims in the front, and 26x8.5 et streets on the back...

I had a cam, headers, all bolt ons, 3.73 gear, leaving off a brake I could only get a 12.2@111...

Got Hals all around, switched to slicks/skinnies, lowered the stall, put heads on, with a new cam, and got the current times in the sig...
