Default Moser 9" Install Question...

This is a dumb question, but is the passenger side axle the longer of the two axles?

Also does the brake backing plate(95 Formula) need to be machined any? Saw somebody had theirs machined, but don't see anything in the instructions....

Thanks for the help,

Dave

I had to get my caliper mounting brackets bored out to clear the axle bearing, and also had to get one side of the actaual place where the caliper bolts on machined down on one side so that they would center up with the disc. Can't remembe which one is longer with out going to look at it, just look at the axle tubes or measure them, it's not too difficult to tell.

Figured out the axle length...pretty easy once you actually look the position of the carrier in the 3rd member.

About finished with the install now...just need to press on the bearings...hope I don't need anything machined since my car is not traction control/4 channel ABS.

Thanks for the help,

Dave

I just called Moser and got the correct bearing for my app...no need to bore IMO...unless you wanna keep the bearing you currently have pressed on the axles...I was using the wrong bearing at first and had the seals break in like a month...PITA!!!!IMO save the guess work and call Moser...they will set you straight
