Stock-headed LT1, CC305 - New Best - Video
This is my first post here...awesome board you guys have!
I went out to Firebird last night with hopes of running a 12.5. I didn't quite get there, but I got pretty close.
My previous best is a 12.77 @ 108.26 on a 1.93 60'. The conditions were very nice last night. Heres what the run looked like:
60' 1.869
330 5.307
1/8 8.157
MPH 86.23
1000 10.599
1/4 12.669
MPH 109.56
Needless to say, I was happy. The MPH is finally getting close to where it should be, and I'm hoping for another MPH or 2 with a tune. The clutch was still slipping on that pass so I think there is more in it as it sits. Now I just need a clutch and a tune.
Here are the vids:
12.66 pass - http://www.public.asu.edu/~dbump/videos/daniel1266.mpg
Heres another video w/a much better view...didn't go quite as fast on this run but still cut a 1.86 60' - you can see the launch much better on this run:

Congrats!
A close friend of mine is putting a Comp 304 cam in his '93 AFR headed car in hopes of bringing some of the driveability back (he has an Erson solid roller in the car now). I tried to talk him into the 304, but he wouldn't listen...

If so, you have some MUCHO power still left
LT1's with internal mods NEED TUNING!!!! I have seen as much as 40 rwhp on the dyno from a dyno tune alone on a cammed only LT1. Get that thing on a dyno, and go back to the track! I think you easily have 113 mph in the car with some tuning.
BTW, I know a guy locally who ran 114 mph stock headed with a CC305 cam and tuning.
Good luck!

George if that cam is smaller than the 305 that 97bowtie has(which i assume it is), he is going to be disappointed in how it runs when he puts that cam in with heads. Its just a bad choice. Daniels car did indeed run that with completely stock tuning which is awesome.
