Default Clearance requirements for 28" ET Drags?

I started fitting the28 x 10.5 ET Drags tonight. They're mounted on Bogarts.

My car sits abnormally high . So the upper fender clearance is 2 to 2 1/2 inches above the tire (~3 fingers). I figure that's good.

In front of the tire, I have a good solid inch between the tire and the metal lip.

On the rear side of the tire, I trimmed back the rear bumper cover a little bit, but it's still only about 1/4" of clearance between the bumper cover and the tire. Do I need more? How much clearance do I need there?

On the inner fender wells, I have at least a finger width's clearance between the tire and the well. Is that enough?

Thanks,

Andrew (hoping to get this thing to the track tomorrow <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> )

i ran a set of 28x10.5 ET Drags a couple years ago. i dont know what MPH you are looking for, but at 132 mph they grew A LOT compared to a ET street or QTP. youll definitly need more than that 1/4" in the back. the inch in the front might be ok. i think i had just a tad under an inch in the front of mine before i moved it back because it rubbed on the top end. the finger width on the inside may not be enough either. i have solid rod ends on my panhard rod and things still flex around enough on turns that i needed more clearance than that on the inside to avoid rubbing. with a little more hammer and cutting work the 28x10.5 Drags fit pretty easily though.

if it were me i would go ahead and cut the rear bumper cover a bit more, and then take it for a drive and make some turns. then just see if/where it rubs and hammer accordingly.

I have 28x10.5 ET Drags and had to remove my side skirts and rear fascia, then trim about and inch and a half off the front and rear of the fender. Set up works pretty well now and I have plenty of room above the tire
