Default Gonna have to bow out early this year...

Hey, guys. I just wanted to let everyone know (in case anyone cares) that I'm going to have to throw in the towel for the summer. For me, down here in Texas, racing season is the cold season (late fall/winter/early spring), and the off-season is later spring/summer/early fall. Well, I have reached the point (again) where I am COMPLETELY out of money and I must take the next few months to catch up on bills. I have school to pay for over the summer also, and would even like to get married within a couple of years, so I have GOT to start learning how to save money. If everything works out, I should be raring to go by November or so, maybe even with Stage II heads for the Thunder Shootout, but until then, I must save every penny I can. I was going to wait 'till after the SBSO to call it quits for the spring/summer, but I ran out of money even earlier than I'd planned. I just wanted to tell everyone how much I appreciate the help I always get on here and wanted to wish everyone good luck with all their cars/projects/goals. It's not like I'm going away or leaving the racing scene altogether, I'll just be down for a while saving money. Anyway, take care everyone.

George,

Amen Brother!

Alan,

Good luck on saving money and staying away from racing.

I know that I can't do either one.

I'm done buying anything for my car right now. I spent way too much money with the 9", suspension, intake, clutch, and new tires. I need to get these credit cards paid off, then back to maxxing them out again.

I will take up the slack for you.
I will be terrorizing the local tracks
in a couple weeks looking for 10.90's
with a big stick.

Are you still going to The N/S shootout?

But once I get them paid off it is time for the turbo

Is`nt there a Betty Ford Type of clinic for all of us "Hot Rodding" over spenders? As soon as I "save up" to do mods I seem to spend at least $500- $1000 more than I have saved to complete the project.

I did a SPEC Stage 3 clutch in january. Then over the last 3 weeks I did moser 9", BMR Tubular LCA's, BMR Chromemoly PHR, BMR TrakPak Torque Arm, Spohn LCA Relocation Brackets, and a 3.5" Aluminum Driveshaft from Madman. All in all a good 3700-3800 bucks.

I need to do some more stuff, but it all can wait now. I can hit the track and not really worry about breaking anything in the drivetrain.
