The TQ shouldnt magically give you better 60's.
The reason for them is the extra strength to reduce the likelyhood of breaking a stock unit which would be all bad. And the adjustablility if your pinion angle is out of whack due to suspension changes.
AND to get the stock unit off the friggin tailshaft which is not the greatest place for it with high HP motors. Some break some don't. I just didnt feel lik ebreaking anymore <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I've always just used the stock torque arm.
It's held up to some good abuse and put down some good times.

my car kept taking out the actual mount on the transmission tailshaft. When I took it off to put my rear end in, I had to pry it off to get the torque arm out, and then I had to beat it straight again with a hammer. 2 weeks later when I went to install my new driveshaft and torque arm, the mount was bent again. My 6 speed car just did not like the stock torque arm mount at all.
