My car originally had a Steel D/S, I got a Aluminum D/S from the junkyard, Replaced the U-joints & removed the balancer. Had the the hole D/S balance. I dropped 9lbs. That's rotating weight. How much did it help? Not sure, but it adds up. My best SI time was 8.0 in the 1/8mile.
I would do it, You should be able to pick one up cheep.

Yeah once part of the ujoint hits the floorboard, thats when the fun starts. Good thing for AAA. Upgraded to IE alum driveshaft after that.
