Those w/rear ends narrowed 3" per side & 15x10 wheels w/5" backspacing, come in
I'm really pressed for time trying to get this car back together. I want to have it rolling ready to go to race on Friday the 27. Anyhow, the only thing I'm waiting on is my rear end which will be leaving this Friday. Its a Strange 12 bolt narrowed 3" per side, 4.56 gear, spool, and aluminum cover. I just had my 29.5x10.5 ET Drags mounted on my Bogarts 15x10 w/5" backspacing and boy, those 29.5s are monsters. I also had my DS-2s mounted on my front 15x3s. Anyhow, I started fitment for the tires last night. What I wanted to know so that I can get on order right away is, with my rear end being narrowed 3" per side, running a 15x10 w/5" backspacing wheel, and a 29.5" slick, am I going to need offset lower control ars and smaller diameter springs? If so, I'd like to get it ordered that way everything is here when my rear end gets here so that I can put it back together on time. Thanks in advance.

Just move them cause if they're not touching they will be REAL close so move it over. I think on the spring you can stay with the stock spring. But for suspension tunings sake I would go with a different spring cause you can get a different rate then also

Some things you need to take into consideration are:
1. What thickness are your backing plates?
2. What piston travel does your rear caliper have?
3. How long are your wheel studs?
4. What diameter are your axle bearings?
5. How much end play does your axle shaft show?

I think I answered your question before.
1. I had 29.5" tires on my car with 7.5" backspacing and stock length 9" rear end.
2. 29.5" tires have a 13.1" sidewall width.
3. I took a tape measure and measured betweeen the tires sidewall and my BMR tubular LCA's which are 1-1/4" thick. The measurement was 3/4".
4. With a 3" shortened per side rear end and a 4.5" back spacing my 13.1" side wall to LCA measurement would still be 3/4".
5. With a 5" back spacing I would only have 1/4" of clearance.
6. Your tire will first make contact with the inner wheel well area where it protrudes out"bump stop area" before it ever touches the LCA. That is if you haven't already cut this area out. I had only 1/4" clearance from this area to my sidewall with 7.5" backspacing. Anytime I chose a tire I always had to keep the side wall measurement in mind. 13.1" was my max.
So with that said, All I gave you is useless information because those measurements were taken from MY CAR and not YOUR CAR.
My advise
1. Get the offset LCA's.
2. Install the wheels and tires.
3. Start taking measurements.
4. Borrow or buy a saw zaw. Get extra steel cutting blades. With 5" back spacing it is my gut feeling you will need one.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Billingsley offset LCAs are on order and on their way. The fenders are done. I trimmed them with a sawzall a good inch on each side. The bumpstop brackets are cut out flush. I'm going to weld a small piece of steel plate for extra insurance/support for the spring not to slip out, not that it wont I dont think. I hope I don't need smaller diameter springs cause I didnt order any, but was tempted to, but wasn't sure what spring rate I needed.

I don't have anything but the rims and tires in hand. My rear end probably won't be here till Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Its a Strange 12 bolt narrowed 3 inches per side and it will have the Strange rear drag brakes on it. I have 1/2" x 3" wheel studs. I'll be running 15x10 w/5" backspacing and no spacers. That's about the only info I have.

I totally agree with them. I would not go cutting much more till you get the rear end in there where you can mock it all up. May end up causing yourself alot more work for no reason at all

Jeremy, someone decided to design a reward for any future threads that appear 3 times with the same question or state 90% nonessential info, we dont wanna ban anyone so we thought we could encourage lil more thought before typing in the future if you knew this was comming. you last few responses were better

Ahh c'mon guys...be nice. All you have to do is ask to be a little more direct with what I'm trying to ask. I just like providing as much info as possible that way there aren't any questions asked needing more info while I'm away waiting for replies/answers. I don't do it to make it look pretty or make you guys read more. Anyhow, all you had to do was ask, no need to make fun.
