shooting for 10's Cam Only??? THOUGHTS??

Well last year my best was 11.85 @ 116 w/ 1.56 60ft DA 4200 ft.
This was done on a stock t56 with a slipping spec 3. no grab..

Before i go out i will removed 50 - 100 lbs and install a proshifted and built
t56.... goal with that is 11.5... (tr224 cam)

Then i will be installing my new T rex cam, lightweight k-member, and a-arms.
and get a good tune... my goal is 10.99 cam only.. Does this sound within reason... thoughts and opinions..

I have also considered going with lexan all the way around.. Anyone know where to get a kit????

Car sees 95 percent track and 5 percent street...

Any thoughts, opinions or suggestions appreciated..

thanks
Dave

dont get the lexan there is plenty of things you can pull out for weight reduction...get 4.10's or 4.56's ..put the t rex in and slicks skinnys and go for the gusto...you do have all the bolt ons right

i have a 9" 4.56 gears and locker... ls1 intake, stock maf, stock tb...
home built tubular rear suspension ,2X3 subframe connectors and rollcage 8 point..

get a ls6 intake or if the money is not a thing get a fast 90 90..pulley ported tb..you have headers ???? what kind of exaust

i am currently running Slp longtubes with 18 " extensions and dumps..

I plan on getting fast 90 and nick williams tb.

well the only thing that i could see stopping that car from hitting 10's is raceweight and driver ability. so if you're a good driver and you get that raceweight down i'd say you'd have no problem.

weight reduction includes:: A/C .. everything behind dash.. kirkey seats , light carpet.
!egr, ! power steering.. spare tire jack, bumper supports... now i need to start spending money to lose weight

SMOKIN01TA Nov 17, 2005 05:05 PM

shouldnt be a problem, but then again what do i know about the setup your going to do

You might wanna get some better headers, those SLP are at the bottom of the totum pole as far as headers go. Pacesetters are good for the $$ or Kooks if you have the $$$. definatly get the 90/90 and pull some more weight out. whats your car weigh?
you don't need to go Lexan glass and pin on parts to be really light. i'm at 2960 w/ me in it and stock glass and body parts.

a 90/90 is a good investment but i have a 408 that put down 508hp-486tq through a stock maff, stock home ported tb and an ls6 through a m6 12bolt combo with a big steel driveshaft no a dyno queen and thats a big cube motor for the money you would spend on that i would put it else whear like a nice set of kooks or definitly some suspension mods that you mite need just my sugestion oh yea and if you do get a 90/90 definitly go with a nick williams tb ive heard and seen alot of bad thing with the fast

SMOKIN01TA Nov 18, 2005 03:07 PM

i have had ZERO problems out of my FAST 90mm tb, the 1st design had most of the problems but i know they changed a few things. :)
