Default Got two size rims what setup to use?Help

Hello yall i need some advice.I got two sets of rims. 16x8 and 17x11s. Which setup will be beter 255/50/16 M/T ET street Radials on the 16x8 z28 rims our 315/35/17 Drag radials on 17x11 zr1 replicas? I hear the 17x11s are heavy i am not sure if they will hurt performance.

I am currently using some 26x11.5x16 ET streets on the 16x8 rims. I think they were mounted without tubes I bought them used. The M/T tire chart says, that the tire is to big for the rim and also tubes are needed. I plan on buying tires this month I can get the 255 m/t drag radials localy and can also get the 315 BFGs drag radials for a good price. I can't get 26x10.5x16 on island and shipping will be allot. And also tubes are reccomended. Some advice would be great Thanks.

I feel that the smaller the tire that you can get away with, the faster the car will be as it does not have to move the extra weight. Then there is the fact that you will be spinning more centrifical weight as it gets rolling. This is why some people get slicks and will run a better ET than with their street tires, but the MPH will be down. I use 28x9 M/T Drag Slicks and cut 1.6 60' times and I have had no problems. I was taught this trick by a Super Stock racer who is constantly working on rotational weight in his car. Good Luck.
