i have always raced with my high fans on (i have the slp switch). don't think it would really make a difference but i like to keep my trans temps down and my cooler is mounted in front of the rad so the fans cool the trans tremendously.

I always race with both of my fans running on my '94. Won't make any measureable diff during your pass, but I want them on during my drive back on the return road and my home-made switch is mounted in the engine compartment, not in the dash. My '02 has the SLP fan switch, so it's mounted in the dash and I usually do not have it on during the actual pass.

I have a two fan setup on my car. I run with one of my fans on all of the time. When I finish with the run, I turn on the second fan and leave it on until the car cools.
