GMHTP Wants Quick Budget GMs
GMHTP is searching for the quickest budget-built EFI GMs out there.
It doesn’t matter what the combination or ET is; we’re considering street, street/strip, and strip-only vehicles. The only requirements are:
Big dyno and track numbers from vehicles that, for the money spent, make more power and run quicker than the average Joe’s.
Your vehicle should be presentable enough for magazine publication––no rolling POSs, please.
You are willing to explain your speed tricks to your fellow EFI enthusiasts in the article.
Your vehicle would be available for an early March photo shoot.
If you feel that your ride qualifies, please send the following to rick.jensen@primedia.com
External front/rear and engine photos of the vehicle
Scanned timeslip and/or dyno graph
Explanation of your mods
Difference in your ride’s performance over others with similar mods
Some of the free, low-buck, and high-tech tricks you’ve used for this superior performance.
The deadline is February 22!

Stupid question, but is it absolutly impairative that the car be at your photo shoot? I have the perfect car for this but their is no way I can get it out to travel before mid April. I have 100s of half decent quality pic of the car.
Basicly the car was built on a serious budget. Has a stock short block, stock heads, stock 4l60, and a 7.5" 10 bolt with 2.73s. It goes like a bastard and it doesn't look half bad either.

I'm still amazed much more so in the stock tranny than anything else. Great setup and your gears must still retain some decent hwy mpg.

What ya think about a 2002 T/A WS6 with an A3, 4000 stall, futral 232/236 cam, home ported 5.3's, basic bolt ons, stock bottom end, w/ 150 shot, 3500+# left at 3100 off the trans brake and ran 10.25@ 130.5mph on a 1.37 60' time. that was the first nitrous pass i ever made on the A3 with a 150 shot, so i launched soft, so i think it has more in it.car dynoed 406/37x on motor and didn't get a dyno run on the 150 shot, with the old 4l60E. new number's coming saturday think this is worthy??

How fast are we looking at? I've spent less then $1k on headers, true duals, 4400 stall, G5X3, 3.73's and other supporting mods. The only problem is the cam, stall, and gears aren't installed yet but are planned to be installed next week. I won't have dyno numbers or track times but it should run pretty good.
