26X8.5X14 or 26X10X15?
Not really F-body related (sorry) but I need some advice regarding slick size and there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable members on here when it comes to drag racing.
What size slicks would you guys recommend for a car that weights 2400 lbs including the driver and has roughly 280whp/270wtq? It also has a lot of gear;
1st=3.79
2nd=2.32
3rd=1.62
4th=1.27
5th=1.00
6th=0.79
Final Drive=4.08
The gear and weight is what concerns me the most regarding slick size.
I'm torn between 26X8.5X14 ET Drags (14" rims fit on my car) and 26X10X15 ET Drags. I'm not sure the extra 1.5" of thread width would be worth it since the 8.5's have 1" more sidewall. Thoughts? Which would you go with?
This might sound a bit ridiculous since the car actually puts down less power than a stock f-body but 1st gear has an overall torque multiplication ratio of 15.4:1 and of course there's the weight difference.
That's the problem; I don't know how weight affects slick size/traction.
