Default Who has LTs, then mufflers, then dumps (not duals or w/ORY)

I know SUX2BU has this setup and daily drives his car, I am looking for others that have it. I am getting new headers for mine because I was having issues with the old ones leaking, and was thinking about doing this setup. Let me know your thoughts on it. Click Here For Mods

Well, right now I have just extensions with no mufflers, but when I get the car back from the chassis shop with the 10-point, I also have him making me extensions with bullets in them for a race I need them for, so i'll give some pics when I get it back if ya want.

This is what I'm planning for the short run. I've got Hooker LT's and a couple of Dynomax 16" bullets 3" straight through. I'm going to weld collectors onto the headers and onto the mufflers and call it a day. I may have to add/subtract some pipe maybe even from/to the collectors on the headers for proper fitment but I'll have to live with it to make them fit. I can't imagine these mufflers causing any horsepower loss but I doubt if they'll quiet the car substantially either. I'm just trying to have mufflers so I can say I've got them if I get stopped.

I have a TSP ory with one bullet right on the end...then a little mandrel turndown. I love it, sounds mean as hell.

I'm running dynomax bullets right off the collector. I like it, but the drivers side makes it real hard to get the muffler on. Everybody tells me the car is quiter now than when I was running a y-pipe and zed style cut out. It sounds better for sure, no rasp, but it is loud as hell inside the car, and vibrates everything.

I have LT headers with a flowmaster single chamber on each header and then a turndown on the end of each ''muffler''......its loud no doubt about it!

Well, the collectors are 3.5", so I was thinking a 3.5-3" reducer, then the 3" mufflers, then turndowns. I used to have duals, then got rid of them for the ORY and catback. Now that the exhaust is coming off again, I am thinking about doing this. I daily drive the car, and the GF goes along to meets and track days, so I don't want it to be deafening. How is it compared to duals?

Well, I am getting new LTs because the slip on collectors are leaking and after only two months, they are already rusted even though they are coated. So I am getting the welded collector version. You think with the 3.5" collectors and 3.5" mufflers it would be too much for a 237/242 cam only car? That's why I was thinking about going with a reducer to 3" off the collector, then a 3" muffler, then turndowns.

How are you doing yours Steve?

I had Pacesetters installed with 12" bullets slid onto the collectors, with turndowns welded on the end of the mufflers facing outward. The car was loud.

I switched to TSP's true dual system and while the car is much quieter, it feels ALOT more torquey.

I'm looking at a set of the Dynatech round "bullets"

I liked how my x-pipe w/ moroso spiral flos sounded dumped. I DID have a set of single chamber flowmaster's on my old '98 Z right after the collector, maybe a 8" extension. Sounded cool. I can't remember which was louder though since that was like 5 years ago.

Diamond F)(*&^ up the pistons. So now I get to grind on high $$ ETP heads and hope that works or, pull the pistons out, grind on them, rebalance and install again, stuff them in a race engine, strap my life in the seat, and hope **** works.

I'm a lill pissed. Car may run when my 8 yr old is old enough to drive.

Mufflers dumped right off the headers are very loud.
