Default tire pressure / Nitto 555R's

I was going to take the camaro to the track tonite and see how the mods are working. I changed from 16" stock GM chrome rims to some 17" rims. the back rims are 17x11's with 315/35/17 Nitto 555R's on them. What tire pressure should I try to start with? I haven't ran the car since I installed a Vig 3200-3400 stall and it is tough to get it to hook up. Any help would be appreciated since I don't know what the hell I'm doing.

I run my 275/40/17s at 25psi on the street and 16psi at the track.

Don't get too excited, the additional hook probably won't outweigh the much heavier wheels. I found this out the hard way when I switched from 245/16's to 275 555r/17's. That extra weight is an MPH killer IMO.

What you should do is use the 17's on the street and strap some MT drag radials on your 16's. Then you'll have hook and MPH.

16 pounds at the track should work well. Remember to keep checking them every few runs though. Air expands as it gets hot and that will bump the psi back up. I've gone from 16 to 20 in 4 passes before.

When I spoke directly with Nitto, I was told 23-25 psi for best traction.

are we talking psi hot? ie drive to the track with 28 psi cold get there now the psi is app33 so now drop them to 18 or whatever while they are hot which if you let them get cold would be app 14?

I run 18lbs all the time everywhere (daily driver). Any higher, they wear the centers and traction suffers, any lower and it's sloppy with worse traction on the street. Don't know about the track.

I have always liked 19 lbs for the 315's on a 9.5 rim. I dont know how the 11 inch rim will affect it but that is what works for me. 1.64 so far on 315's and a 1.67 on the 16 inch nittos with a 6 spd.

I set them at 19 all the time cold. at the track I start off with that and if it does not hook that, I go 19 hot . I dont see a big difference in psi on nittos Hot vs cold though.

I drive my car to the track so the tires are kinda warm so I set it usually 2 pound lower than desired then the burnout brings it to where I want.
