Tucking 29.5W's?
 

Hey guys so I've been thinkin about this lately. With the car minitubbed and the rear narrowed and the right BS on the wheels is there enough clearance to tuck a 29.5 W tire? I was thinking tucking the big tire would look sick ontop of not having to cut up the outside of the wells. What's everyone's opinion on this? Anyone done it yet? Pictures?

I am not sure you can tuck a "W" without going to a ladder bar or 4-link set-up and relocate the shocks...I am pretty sure....29's..yes...W's...no (i don't think so)

You can with a minitub, Brady did it with a 315/60, tucked all the way.

You can tuck it with work. However you may find that it's really tight to the fenders and a stretch may be required. It does require a little extra narrowing to get the job done though. Then space gets to a premimum which will require some offset LCA's and you'll be getting real tight to the shocks.

why would you ever need to run a 29.5W?? there's guys running bottom 7s with a 29.5 non-w but yes you can tuck it with the right rear/bs combo and minitubing.

that's fine, i'm just not a fan of people sticking way more tire than they need under a car, kind of a waste. good luck though. since you are in arlington, i would do what i've told you before, contact wolfe and they can help you set your car up exactly like you want it.

But you definately had to trim the quarter and the bumper correct? I'm tryin to tuck this without having to do that. Like completely in the wheel well

you have to cut something I had to cut some off the bumper just to fit a 28. this pic the car is on jack stands

Ok so what I'mlooking to find out is CAN i get AT LEAST a true 10.5 tire completely INSIDE of the wheel wells. Maybe Brady or Outlaw can chime in on this or Madman

you can fit a 10.5 easily, 10.5W requires more work.. Diameter of the tire is very important, a 28x10.5 will fit tons easier than a 29.5x10.5. I had to cut in front of the wheel and trim the bumper cover.. pics again of fitting a 30x12.5 tire: http://teamprickracing.com/95z/bigtires/

Easily done, look at my sig. That's a 29.5 10.5 S tire, a 29.5 W will fit too. You just have to mini tub it if you want it to look like that. My rear is narrowed just a hair more then Wormboy's, 5 1/2" per side, you get that ultimate deep dish look which makes the tire look bigger. His rear we narrowes 5" per side since he is still using stock tubs, but we can't get his car as low as mine.

* Both Rears are for sale, along with wheels, and wheelie bars.

Uh, I don't think so. The fastest ever 1/8th mile pass on 29.5 x 10.5 tires that I'm aware of is a 4.75 or so with a nitrous BBC. That would be close to a 7.3-7.4... not exactly a bottom 7 to me.

The Limited Street record is 4.78 on a 29.5x10.5nonW tire to the best of my knowledge. That would be 7.30's or maybe a high 7.20 if the car ran a good back half.

Our Mustang has run an 4.84 on the 29.5nonW's and went mid 4.90's on the 7.50 runs on the 315 DR tire.
