Default What's a good baseline shock setting for QA1's

Full weight car on 275-50-15 drag radials A4 making apox 400 rwhp.

My shocks are the older style if that makes any differance.

Single adjustables I take it? I ran mine 2-4 in front, and 4-6 rear. Our track was rather slippery most times, so those setting were normal, but adjust it according to particular prep/traction that night. GL

I have heard 9 up front and 3 out back. On the street I run 7 up front and 4 out back for the single adjustable QA1s.

with 0 being softest, and 12 being hardest.

start out with 2 in the front, and 6-7 in the back. You want the weight to transfer to the rear, but you dont want the rear to squat, so make it a little stiff.

I pretty much agree with that. When I was first running my QA1's I couldn't figure out why my 60' times weren't improving too much. I had my settings too soft. I was initially running like a 3-4 in the rear. After a lot of tweaking on my local track that is notoriously slick ( nick named the ice rink ), I was cutting consistant low 1.5x 60's with an M6. After a lot of T&T time I ended up running like 5-6 to 6-7 on the rears. I was getting pretty confident that I was getting ready to start seeing 1.4x shorts when I scattered the motor. I'm pretty sure that if my car was an auto with a brake I would have had no problem seeing 1.3x short times with my QA1's. Soft in the rear isn't always better, but I like big butts & I can not lie. OOPS got a little off track with the soft rear thing.
