Default Homemade lightweight front bumper support (pics)

Just used some Home Depot aluminum stock. Bolts to the bumper on top and behind the liscence plate and supports the middle lower most part of the bumper. I was gonna put some more bracing but it feels pretty good to me. Whole thing costs about $40 and weighs around 3 lbs.

Looks pretty good. You should post up the measurements for each section of it....

that looks nice but would that do much at all if you still got hit in the front? Im not trying to bash your work but im just curious as if it would help any in a front end collision

I assumed its to support the front end from being deformed by wind (in highway driving and such), not for a front-end collision. If you are worried about collisions, best bet is to leave the bumper supports in for now.

Yeah no protection whatsoever even in a 1mph collision. I'll be relying on the framerails for that. Turo's right about the high speed deformity it's just to "support" the front bumper cover, that's all.
