A couple of good sharp sawzall blades, and the caliper mount bolts are easy to strip take your time.

I know on the LS1 cars you have to trim the edge of your spindle mount off so that the new strange spindle can sit flush. I got after it with a grinder, more weight savings!

You need to remove the ears that mount the stock caliper and also shave the lower a arm (1/4- 1/2 in) to clear the rotors.

I think they come with their own hub. Spindles are like $1000.

The only time I plan on driving on the street is to the local Track (5 minutes away) and local shows.

I've talked to Billingsley and SJM about these brakes and the consensus was that they'll stop on the street fine........once. It's the repeated braking thing that will cause problems and brake fade. As long as there's a cool down period between braking events I cannot imagine there being a problem on the street even though they're not recommended for street applications. They're going on the front of my 2000 SS as soon as funds permit. Along with some Bogart Welded R/T rims and skinnines. Like 30thz, though, my car is kept only a few miles from the track and will not be driven around joy riding.

BTW, SJM has a package deal on brakes and rims that's a killer deal for those interested.

I assume this is for an LT1, right?

I've been waiting for someone to make a lightweight spindle for the LS1.

AJE makes them and I believe Mark Williams but I'm not sure on that.

There is a member running the AJE front end setup. Run a search in this section.

Go to this member's photobucket account. He has pics of his spindles.
