What size wheel and tire? Like what backspacing? with a 29.5 x 10w it will be a 12" wheel. I was thinking 5" backspace.

Why narrow, just to get different BS and looks for wheels, or is there a benefit?

I narrowed because the rear will weight less, will be a little stronger and mainly because it gives the wheel a big deep dish...

I am not sure you can fit a 12" wheel..I am running a 29.5/w with 15x10(5" backspace) and the rear is narrowed 3.5" per side...I don't think I can fit a 12" wheel though.

thanks jshiver thats what I will be doing then. You never have any issues correct? Any special things you had to do extra or just do the tub narrow the rear and put the wheels on?

If you put a big tire on a car without narrowing the rear and putting a different backspacing your tire will just stick out of the wheelwell

I think BLWN1 was more asking a question with the second statement...

Like "Why get a narrowed rear end? Are you only doing it for looks or is there an actual benefit"

that's how i read what he typed

Isnt a stock rear, with 10's and 7 in BS the same as a rear narrowed 1 in, and 10in wheels with 6 in bs? or am I missing something? How does that make it redneck? I never thought about the weight aspect, I just wondered if it helped in something I missed? Im still researching the mini tub idea, but I think it kicks *** and really want to consider it....

That is what I was wondering, are shorter rears stronger I assume because of less weight over a shorted distance.. if that makes sense?

if you run a 10" rim with 5.5" backspace and narrow the rear 2.5 on each side, it will pull the wheel about a half inch under the wheel well and still fit in there real nice. this is so the tire doesnt stick out a little like they do stock

My car is mini tubbed and has been narrowed 3" per side. I run a 15x10 with 5 1/2" bs. I am doing one for a friend that has been narrowed 3 1/2" per side, with 15x10's with 5" of back spacing. 3 1/2" of back spacing is about as much bs'ing as you can do with the stock suspension.
