Default How light can you get a 93-97 Camaro?

I'm new to this board & I was just wondering whats the lightest any of you guys have gotten your 4th generation Camaros.

I have an 89 mustang GT that is gutted w/a 12 point cage, tubular kmember & tubualr front lowers,8.8 w/4.10's,adj uppers & lowers etc. I was gonna drop my SBC into but am having 2nd thoughts.

I have always loved Camaros (I own a 67 RS & a 69 back 1/2 camaro) & was wanting to drop a carbed SBC into a late model. I figure if I'm gonna have to fab a motor plate & such for the Mustang, I might as well just do the work to a Camaro right? If they can be lightened up some.

I realize that mustang coupes are pretty light but mine is a GT hatchback so I figure I can at least get a late model Camaro to the same weight.

So come on guys lets hear what you did & how light your car is! Thanks!

You'll get that GT lighter than the Camaro.

I think Magnus has one of the lightest cars on here. It's under 3000 I believe.

My cars weight in race trim was 2660lbs, with full glass all around, and headlight motors.

That's what I'm wanting to know. I can live with a "bare bones" type of street/STRIP car. Heck thats what my mustang is now...2 race seats & some door/hatch panels.

I was just wondering if it is possible to get a 4th gen Camaro that light. Can you enlighten me alittle bit Magnus? If it is an "ancient Chinese secret" would you pm me some info. I've already read the weight reduction sticky on this board too by the way.

Thanks!
