Question Wolfe Tubbed car, should I buy a narrowed rear????

I'm about to order a 9" and I'm also about to order Wolfes tubs. Should I go ahead and get a narrowed, and how much shorter should it be? I'm trying to fit Nitto 335's in the back without them sticking out the sides.

Thanks,
Tre

What rim are you gonna be running out back and how wide is it gonna be. You can narrow the rear 1" probably up to about 5"(a bit much lol) per side. The only thing is you will need run a custom backspacing to keep the wheel where you want it to be.

I'm going to get some wheels made, so I can pretty much build the wheel to the car. I was thinking about trying to fit a 18X12.

I'm pretty sure with the tubs in you will fit an 18x12. That will look sick with a huge *** lip.

Decide on the wheel/tire combo, and have them made up and mounted. Remove the inner wheel house to do the tubs. Set the wheels and tires under the car, with the car at ride hgt. Block the wheels to get them EXACTLY where you want them.[I made a fixture that is adjustable, and has a fake axle flange on each end. I mount the wheels to this fixture.] Measure the inside width, wheel to wheel. That's the dimension of the axle you need to make.
When making the axle width calcs, be sure to consider the brake rotor thickness, the axle flange to hsg dimensions..

I'm planning that exactly. I have 18x12 with an offset to shorten the rear 2" total. They have a 4" lip.
Here is a pic on the stock axle.

I'm assembling the rear myself and waiting on parts. Then it's cut and weld minitubs . I'm going to attemp to see if I can get away with stock spring mount. Tire is a 345.
I've talked a lot about this last summer but, my dad had surgery. It's go time.

I doing the same thing with my car right now but my wheels are chrome, keep me updated with how it goes as far as problems and snags along the way, and I do the same.
