Default mounting vaccum pump to motor plate...

what size bolt would you guys thing would be ideal? I plan to use a shoulder bolt on the pivot end threaded into the plate itself and a regular nut/bolt on the moving side. Anyone have any experience with this type of setup?

Is it a moroso pump? When using there bracket I use a 3/8 bolt for the pivot and adjuster.

Its kinda hard to see now that theres a bunch of stuff in the way. The top bolt is the adjuster. What you cant see is the pivot, which is just a 3/8 bolt. You can see the mandrel off the crank on the bottom

this may not be for here but; what do you guys with vacuum pumps do about baffeling to keep the pump from sucking oil out of the motor?

You want to pull an oil mist so the pump stays lubricated. If not, overtime the vanes will stick at low rpm and it wont pull vacuum. Tying into the front of a valve cover usualy allows the right amount of oil through the system. The other end of the pump goes to a vented catch tank. That round chrome thing on the inlet side of the pump is a regulator to control the amount of vaccum. On wet sumps you can pull up to 16. On dry sumps, you can go up to 20 if desired.
