Were you spinning? Unless you are at high altitude or something my first move would be to figure out why it isn't faster now. My car ET'd about the same and ran 3 more MPH in the Florida heat and humidity last August, with less mods. I would make sure it is hooking up and running to it's full potential then do the following.

Long tube headers with an off road Y pipe. Throw in a cut out if you still have the factory catback.

3.73 or 4.10 gears, depending on your ultimate goals and use of the car.

Dyno Tune.

Some weight reduction never hurts either. Up to a point it is cheap.

Good Luck.

I have the same questions and comments as the post above. Unless your 2-3 miles high you should run much better then that...

I was a little freaked by the numbers too. The car was launching well, without spinning or wheel hop. This was in phoenix, az, and the temp was probably 65-70.

The car had previously run a best of 14.2, before any of the mods listed, but that was with a buddy driving the car, so I don't know exactly how it felt. Now we are 4 10ths faster on the 60', time, but only 2 10ths quicker on the big end.

As far as figuring out what is wrong with the car now, where would you be looking to figure out what is going on? The car did seem to be shifting a little later than I expected - over 6k, so I was thinking the car is spending too much time on the far side of the powerband. Could the converter be to blame? it is a Fuddle 3200. Car also has a new Opti cap/rotor, and 8.5mm wires, so I am doubting it is ignition related - the car runs fine through the rpm band and isnt' missing or anything.

Thanks for your thoughts!!

OK, I just looked over most of my slips from when I bought my car to present and I see progression with all the mods I have done over that time, starting bone stock at 14.12 @ 98.6, but even with a few free mods and the home made CAI I was in the 13.7 range. That slip is closest to yours...

60' - 2.074
330 - 5.856
1/8 - 8.935
MPH - 80.35
1000 - 11.560
1/4 - 13.785
MPH - 101.22

As compaired to yours, it is down even at the 1/8th by ~.1 and ~2 MPH this just seams to spread till the 1/4 where you are down by ~.3 and ~4 MPH. This plus the standard equation at this speed .1 in the 60' should be worth at least .15 on the big end unlike yours where you decrease your 60' by .4 you should have decreased the 1/4 by at least .6, this all points to a lack in power somewhere, you say the ignition is good, but with 122K miles how is the motor, is the compression OK? Do you have any vacuum leaks? At this pace you appear to be down by ~20+ RWHP. Also shifting too high isn't helping you any either but it isn't the whole issue...

Not knocking you or anything just trying to help...

No worries dude - that is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. I am going to get the car on a dyno this week and see if we can find anything obvious - and then probably put a tune on it. I have a hunch it is something like a weak fuel pump, clogged cat, dying coil, etc. If nothing obvious turns up then I will run a compression test - which does NOT sound like a good time, getting to those rear cylinders!!

So what would you think the car SHOULD be running? based on other cars with the same mods, I was thinking 13.3 would be about right...

With the mods you listed and a strong motor then I would guess your in the 13.6 area give or take .1...

I have a pretty good running motor and was stuck at ~13.2 for a year of tweeking with all the mods in my sig except the headers, exhaust, and 1.6 Rockers. For exhaust on that setup it was stock mani's and Y-pipe with a gutted cat and a cutout before the axle...

I have a crappy dyno sheets from that setup too, if you get yours dyno'd for comparison. I was just under 300RWHP (296, but the dyno operator didn't spin it high enough, I am pretty sure it would have broke 300 RWHP) and 338 Torque...
