Default Part 1 of my project (mini tubs) finished. Lots of pics.

I cut them out but I let a local tech member do the final cutting and welding them in. The member who did them was 89lx-ls1
I had only planned on doing the cage and mini tubs so while I was stripping the inside I decided to do one thing that led to another then another and next thing I know the whole car is apart

I am getting a 10pt moly cage installed next week
EDIT: part 2 complete(roll cage) https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...39#post6979239
Here is the car before I got started.

Started stripping

I didn't keep track of the hours in it. I started on the passenger side cutting the main portion out and that took me an evening I was afraid to cut it all at once so it cut a little out at a time. then when I got to the other side I had figured out where to cut so I cut it once and it took about 2 hours.
The guy that did the final cutting and welding did a nice job of cutting a fitting them in. I don't remember how many hours he had in them either.

They are the wolfe tubs.

Yes I will narrow the rear next year when I get new wheels.
I havn't decided on a tire yet.
I bracket race so I want a big tire.
But I want a tire that won't it sway too much on the top end if possible.
So I will probley go with a 15x12 wheel if it will fit.

I wish they made 17" drag/et streets in a bigger size. I would love to keep running the oem SS wheels and have them widened in the back and narrowed in the front.
I just love the look of those wheels.

Thanks for the links. I didn't even know they had those that big.
I just wonder how a radial compairs to a bp tire as far as consistancy is concerned.
That is nice to know anyway though because I wanted to run a radial class and those would be perfect for that.
bad thing though is if I narrow my rear for the 15's then the the OEM wheels probley won't fit
