Default What can be cut out?

OK guys, since I have the interior out I am thinking about squeezing every ounce of weight out of the car.

See the image below and let me know what you think...

The green are going to be cut out, the yellow looks like it is just extra metal and can be cut out, and the blue looks structural but I think a few extra holes with a small hole saw or brill bits couldn't hurt it any...

What do you guys think?

With this as a closer look at those brackets circled in yellow and blue.

Also the area around the mid speakers and B pillar (blue circle below) looks hollow, is it OK to hole saw there as well?

How far have some of you guys gone for a few pounds?

Wow, even the one in blue from the first image? Was it structural at all?

But I already have the tools for cutting....

That and at this point I am going planning to go for Shon's stock internal LT1 record. Since the 12.6 I've added gears, and welds w/skinnies and stickies, so since I am done with bolt-on's its time to pull weight. I can't afford the K-member and lightweight front suspension yet, but the free weight is coming out of her...

Yes, even the blue part.

There are tabs in the back hatch area you can get rid of too.
Remove antenna bracket in spare well
Remove e-brake and cut that out too (i have no ebrake and i'm M6 street car )

Get lightweight paper speakers to replace the current speaker. Holesawing right there is a damn good idea too.
Remove glue in back and under dash too.

I was planning on pulling the parking brake too, but was curious if there was anything that was needed to be done at the read brakes, did you do anything?

Remove the ring and ebrake stuff off the rear brakes, remove lines, remove e-brake. Not much else to it, very straightforward.

Well the ebrake cable snapped when I tried to engage it while loading the car up at the track, so I guess rather then fixing it I might as well pull it all and that's another ~12 # out...

Yeah but I love having a light car and beating People with a lot more power then I have Plus I only drive the car 1 or 2 times a week max so I could care less if it was all cut up, once you put the pannels back on and the carpet in you can't see any of it. My goal is to have a 3,000 race weight or less

I'm right at that point. I haven't cut out anything, just removed stuff.

Rear seat brackets and rear seat belt brackets for sure. When you put carpet back in it will look much cleaner.

Unless you cage it I would stay away from the purple and ble (side impact).

I also have removed all that except for the ones in yellow. Don't forget the front and rear bumpers unless, of course, you've already done that.
