Default Curious about turning a '93 Z28 into a drag car

I'm getting ready to buy a '93 Z28 with about 135k miles on it. It's in decent shape still, and has a fairly newly rebuilt transmission. I am thinking about turning into a drag car since I already have a '00 WS6 (the other option is using it as a DD, I'm not sure what I want to do yet.

Anyway, if I do turn in into a strip car, in general what would be the fastest/cheapest way to turn it into a 10 second car? I would be able to do all kinds of weight reduction things (stuff you wouldn't do to a DD) since I won't be driving it anywhere but the track. If it's cost effective I could up the cubes of that engine or buy a whole new bigger one to put in (remember 135k+).

Let me know what you think the quickest/cheapest way to the 10's is (or even 11's if 10's are WAY too expensive, I don't know yet)

I'm just looking for a general idea too, not a part by part guide or anything.

Thanks

-355ci
-Stall
-Tires
-Gears
-Lots and lots of nitrous.

This equals 10s on a budget.

Other than the rear end and tranny, what would I have to replace so nothing breaks?

Oh, and do you have any sort of estimate on what "on a budget" would mean for $$? This thing is completely stock right now keep in mind, I forgot to say that.

Do an eagle roatating assembly with a decent piston. - $1600

It all depends on what you want man. You can still use your stock crank if you choose.

You could go 10s on a 8.8 Rear (10 bolt) if your lucky.
