Default Cam/LT Install! New Track times, HELP!

Hey guys. I just had most of the major work on my car done at Speed, Inc. My N20 stuff is still not all worked out so I only ran all motor. I also need help analyzing my timeslips. Here are my mods:

2001 NBM Camaro Z28 M6
Engine: 224/224 .581/.581 112LSA Cam, Chrome Moly Pushrods, Comp 918 Springs, Titanium Retainers, SLP LT's w/ORP, MSD Wires, NGK TR6's, Star Stage III Clutch, KB-DD SFC's, Nitrous Express - 125, SLP LM exhaust, Whisper Lid/K&N, Pro 5.0 Short Shifter.

Appearance: 18x9.5 Chrome Z06 Wheels w/ Kumho Supra 712's - 275/35/18, MAC Progressive Rate Lowering Springs.

Engine: 398.7rwhp / 389.4rwtq

From other cars with my same/similar setup they are running low 12's at 116-119mph trap speeds. Mine werent even close. I was running on 18x9.5" street tires with Kumho Supra 712 tires. My trap speeds were always the same regardless if I ran a best or worst. Track temp was 72^ with a slight cross wind. This is the same track I ran my previous times.

My air/fuel goes 2 bars into the green on my air/fuel so I think it runs rich. Also I have the LT headers with no cats, off road pipe, and LM. If my car idles for 5-10 minutes you can see gas/dirty vapor forming on the back bumper. So, my guess is that it is running rich. Speed, Inc. said they tuned it. Im gonna call them back on Monday and see what they say.

My car right now is also throwing the SES light code 1153. It said something like "air/fuel mixture" or something. Before that, it was a different code for the o2 sensors on the left bank. I had the codes cleared and the air/fuel came back on. Here are some of my times... I wont even bothering posting the crappy ones with mishifts.

--BEST--
R/T: .503
60': 1.935
330: 5.392
1/8: 8.162
mph: 88.98
1000: 10.531
1/4: 12.532
mph: 112.95

--2nd best--
R/T: .611
60': 2.048
330: 5.638
1/8: 8.439
mph: 88.32
1000: 10.826
1/4: 12.823
mph: 113.06

--3rd best--
R/T: .506
60': 2.070
330: 5.630
1/8: 8.434
mph: 84.03
1000: 10.916
1/4: 12.963
mph: 111.17

--4th best--
R/T: .538
60': 2.215
330: 5.778
1/8: 8.575
mph: 86.83
1000: 10.947
1/4: 12.942
mph: 113.42

So, to so some it up I gained .2 seconds in the 1/4 and 3mph in the 1/4 for LT headers, Internals, and cam. Something just smells fishy here. I think Im going to go have it dynoed locally once again and make sure Speed, Inc. has the correct numbers. I also need to find a place that can check the tune since I cant drive way back down to Chicago.

What do you guys think?

im thinking that if your making 398rwhp/389.4rwt, your car has been tuned b/c those are great #'s for setup. Check the a/f though since you are seeing problems
i duno about your times...is your TB opening all the way?
what are you launching at?
with the lowering springs you have, be sure and get some LCA's, relocation Brackets, and a panhard rod. With just lowering springs, you are going to have bad traction issues. Those parts should make a big difference. I'd say that with some suspension work and slicks, you can hit low 12's easy.

besides the track...have you driven it around ? Your ride should seem ALOT difference

Well, the reason I was so upset was because I raced my friend with a 2002 Z28 with Lid/SLP LM and I pull 1.5 lengths on him.

My mph is extremely low. I think the only reason I ran those times was because I could wind my car out to 6700rpms. I never had to shift into 4th gear, I just used 3rd.

I need my mph and more tuning. I think my car is running rich. I didnt care about ET really, I cared about my mph.

Until you get your 60' under control, you won't see what you want.

With ET Streets, I was seeing 110-112 MPH, pulling 1.8x 60's. With ET Drags, I pull 1.65 60's, and trap 114-116.

You need gears and real tires. 4.30's in a 12-bolt and 28" ET Drags. That's what you need. And then try out that 125 shot.

how much does your friggin car weigh??

for one you have 18's on the car with street tires
next the temps were in the 70's

you have weight, 60, and temps against your car right now. Those 18's arent gonna do squat on the track so you need to get a drag racing wheel/tire combo

next what are you shifting at? shiftlight?

a M6's driver can have the best or worst effect on the car. Ive seen GOOD M6 drivers jump in someones car and drop 3-5tenths off there times just cause they know how to drag the car

i wouldnt worry untill you run in cooler temps and get some sticky tires. But with your 60, weight, and weather I dont see much wrong with the car. BTW, that A/F guage doesnt tell you squat. All it does it bounce around and look cool.. hehehheheheh
get atap and find out what your 02's read

good luck

Get it dyno'd locally with an Af readout. Verify the tune and HP#s.

Then start with a little weight reduction here and there.

Then its practice practice practice.

I hope all works out for your on this. I am getting work done at Speed Inc. So PLEASE post what turns up with your dyno numbers and ses light questions. I am getting the same cam /springs/push rods and i have hooker long tubes with custom y-pipe . Only real big diff between our cars is your an M6 and I run a A4. I will post my dyno numbers after work is done. But i tell ya those look like real nice numbers for a cam only car. (no heads). Good luck.

Get that 60 foot down and you'll be flying. Driving can make a huge difference. Kid locally has a 2001 GT stang with a 01 Cobra motor in it with minor mods, couldn't break anything passed 13.60's all night. Friend with an 03 and 93 Cobra, DAMN good driver, jumped in and ran it to a 12.64 and handed the kid the keys back
