Correct McLeod Bellhousing?

Correct McLeod Bellhousing? I just received a new McLeod 8710-00 modular bellhousing. The depth of the McLeod including the motor plate is 5.75 inches. The stock bellhousing depth is 5.5 inches. McLeod gave me the above part number before I ordered. Does anyone here know the correct part number?

The information I wanted is buried on McLeod’s web site. All GM Modular bellhousing kits use the same basic bell (8713) which is 5.550 inches deep without an intermediate plate. This really sucks. You can shim the slave but that doesn’t extend the input shaft.

I’m starting to get the picture. A bronze pilot bushing was included with my kit. The needle bearing pilot probably wouldn’t last long if the input shaft isn’t all the way in while the solid bushing will be ok. I plan to not use the motor plate. Thanks for the help.

By midplate I thought he meant the plate that gets fitted between the block and the bell housing that comes from McLeod.
Did he mean an engine midplate?

I meant that I plan to not use the McLeod plate included with the bellhousing. Without the plate the bellhousing depth is very near to stock. I don't compete seriously and don't need to pass rigid inspections. I have test fitted the Mcleod and it appears that installation will be easy. Sorry for the confusion.

Mine must have been made on a friday. Some of the problems I had were
-Incorrect hardware
-Some bolt holes off by .01
-Some holes not drilled and tapped completely
-Driver side upper bolt needed special tooling to fit
Plus side is I'm not afraid to dump at 7k anymore

It seems as though this bellhousing is a pain in the ***. I just don't understand why it is so hard for these manufacturers to build something that fits well without a ton of work. Its not like the LS1 and T56 are brand new inventions, they have been around for a decade, why is it so hard to manufacturer a properly fitting product.

couldnt believe it when i called lakewood and asked why they dont make one for a STOCK application yet they make one to adapt a t56 to a old school 350 chevy and one to mate a ls1 to 4speed 
they said they'll look into it but dont see a big demand or need to make it
sorry, but at what 1/4 mile time do you need the scatersheld?
